this is a technically-oriented administrative support position. the engineering coordinator prepares and maintains an up-to-date system of engineering documentation. duties include recording‚ filing‚ retrieving and processing of drawings‚ manufacturing standards‚ test reports‚ implementation notes‚ and related documentation required for product design‚ testing‚ and manufacture.

qualifications:

knowledge and skills
requires a knowledge of engineering office practices‚ procedures and equipment‚ including filing systems oriented toward projects and products‚ letter and report writing. requires a wo***ng knowledge of engineering practices and processes knowledge of personal *****puter based software programs that support this level of work‚ including but word processing‚ spreadsheet‚ presentation graphics‚ and data e***y onto custom data bases. requires sufficient human relations skills to interact both formally and informally with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds.

abilities
requires the ability to read english.
shall perform the essential duties of the position effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. must be able to handle multiple projects in a rapidly changing work environment. requires sufficient knowledge of technical terms on engineering matters. requires ability to perform mathematical calculations such as dimensions‚ weights‚ totals‚ and statistics.

typically works in an office environment within a manufacturing plant. uses *****puter and standard office equipment.

education and experience
requires a high school diploma plus one year of post-secondary course work in secretarial science or a related business field and 2 years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative capacity‚ preferably in an engineering environment. post-secondary coursework in *****puter-aided design or engineering technology may substitute for administrative training.
